May 29, 2017 Memorial Day: Honor | Remembrance | Reflection

In honor of our fallen military brothers and sisters this Memorial Day (and every day)… may we never forget what was given for our freedom!

Memorial Day: Honor | Remembrance | Reflection

With a constant barrage of commercials and ads touting Memorial Day Weekend discounts on cars, cheap furniture and more, it’s easy for many Americans to lose our understanding for the true reason we observe Memorial Day.  And while it’s nice to BBQ, enjoy a 3-day weekend and get excited about the unofficial start of summer, simply put: it’s a time to honor, to remember and to reflect!

If you do anything this weekend, please take time to reflect on the real reason we observe Memorial Day and honor all the brave men and women who paid and made the ultimate sacrifice to make the United States the land of the free and the home of the brave (land of the free because OF the brave)!

Whether it takes seeing an American Flag, a military sticker on a car or watching our good friends Joe Mantegna and Laurence Fishburne co-host the National Memorial Day Concert, please take a moment to show yourself (and those around you), that you have not forgotten those men and women in military uniform who died while fighting for our great country!
US Flags at Half-StaffIn accordance with Flag Code section e with Flag Code section 7(m) the United States flag is to be displayed at half-staff from sunrise until noon (local time) on Memorial Day, Monday, May 29, 2017. Thank you!
