Veteran Owned Business Workshop: "Doing Business with the County and Federal Government"

On Tuesday, April 23, 2013, the County of Bucks Business Development Department, in conjunction with the Bucks County Commissioners, Fulton Bank, and the Central Bucks Chamber of Commerce begins the Fulton Bank Government Series 2013 by engaging our veteran owned business community and presenting Doing Business with the County and Federal Government. The event will be held at the Central Bucks Chamber of Commerce, Bailiwick Office Campus Suite 23, 252 West Swamp Road, Doylestown, PA 18901. The program starts promptly at 8:15 a.m. and concludes at 11:30 a.m.

Sonia Smith, County of Bucks Business Development Administrator states, “Although Bucks is one of the counties that leads the state in the number of veteran-owned businesses, Bucks is not in the TOP 10 Pennsylvania counties in terms of the receipts per business. Our goal is to help veteran-owned businesses increase the revenue earned by offering education opportunities to learn how to do business with the government sector. We are joined with the Central Bucks Chamber and our government resource partners in these efforts.” In addition to Ms. Smith, the scheduled members of the panel include:

  • Maureen McIlvaine, CPPO, CPPB, Director, Bucks County Purchasing Department
  • Eric M. Wiksten, Director, NJ Veterans Business Outreach Center
  • Donald Jefferson, Business Development Specialist, US Small Business Administration

Pre-registration is requested due to limited seating; however, there is no charge to attend the event. To register for the workshop, please contact the County of Bucks Business Development Administrator, Sonia Smith, at 215-345-3839 or at srsmith@co.bucks.pa.us.
