Welcome veterans, active-duty military and military families (who are curious about eating a carnivore diet) to my kitchen, where I’m diving headfirst into the carnivore diet with my very first attempt at making a carnivore meatloaf! As a beginner on this meat-only journey, I’m sharing my honest experience of combining intermittent fasting with a carnivore diet to kickstart my weight loss and boost my gym motivation. In this video, I’ll walk you through my easy, no-fuss recipe for a hearty, low-carb meatloaf that’s perfect for meal prepping—because let’s face it, life’s busy, and I need food ready when I get home after a long day at the office!
A few weeks ago, I started intermittent fasting, eating only between 7-8 PM, and recently transitioned from low-carb to a full-on carnivore diet. I’m no chef, dietician, or professional YouTuber—just a regular guy trying to get healthier after years of pizza, burgers, ice cream, and way too many beers. I’m still human, so yeah, I sneak in a couple of IPAs on weekends (don’t judge!), but I’m committed to making better choices. This meatloaf is my solution to having delicious, carnivore-friendly meals ready to go, so I don’t fall back into grabbing frozen egg rolls or pasta from the fridge.
In this video, you’ll see my raw, unpolished attempt at mixing 6 pounds of meat into a glorious, protein-packed loaf that’s perfect for breaking a 24-hour fast. I’ve included mozzarella sticks for a cheesy surprise in the center, plus a few simple seasonings to keep it carnivore-approved (and under 1 carb per serving!). Whether you’re new to carnivore, a seasoned meat-eater, or just curious about a high-protein, low-carb recipe, this video is for you. No fancy editing, no Hollywood production—just real food and real talk.

Carnivore Meatloaf Recipe:
Ingredients:
4 lbs grass-fed 85% lean ground beef
2 lbs grass-fed ground pork
6 medium eggs (to bind it all together)
4 mozzarella sticks (3 in the large loaf, 1 in a smaller loaf for a cheesy core)
Ground garlic and herbs (sprinkled on top for flavor)
A quick splash of apple cider vinegar (around the edges for a slight tang)
A dash of 100% organic lemon juice (around the edges for brightness)
A few squirts of organic, low-sugar, real tomato ketchup (for a subtle glaze)
Carnivore Meatloaf Instructions:
In a large mixing bowl, combine the beef, pork, eggs. Get your hands in there and mix thoroughly until everything is well incorporated.
Shape the mixture into one large loaf (or split into one large and one smaller loaf, like I did). Place in a deep baking dish.
Insert mozzarella sticks into the center of the loaf for a melty, cheesy surprise.
Sprinkle ground garlic and herbs on top. Add a quick shake of apple cider vinegar and lemon juice around the edges of the dish. Squirt a small amount of low-sugar ketchup on top for a subtle glaze.
Bake until it looks good to you!
Why This Recipe?
This meatloaf is a game-changer for me. As someone who used to live for sandwiches (breakfast, lunch, dinner, you name it!), I wanted a carnivore-friendly dish that feels indulgent but keeps me on track. It’s perfect for meal prep, stores well, and satisfies my hunger after a long fast. Plus, it’s so meaty that even Meat Loaf (Marvin Lee Aday) would give it a nod!
My Journey:
I’m a few weeks into intermittent fasting (24-hour fasts most days) and recently switched to carnivore after experimenting with low-carb. I usually break my fast with ribeyes, chicken thighs (skin-on for that fat!), or pork ribs, but I needed variety. This meatloaf is my answer to quick, delicious, and carnivore-compliant meals. I work long hours, often getting home after 7 or 8 PM, so having food ready is crucial to avoid slipping back into old habits. I’m also hitting the gym for 1.5 hours daily, and this high-protein diet is helping fuel my workouts.
Disclaimer:
This video isn’t a Hollywood production. It’s a simple, pieced-together montage of my cooking process. If you’re expecting cinematic perfection, this ain’t it! But if you want a real, relatable recipe from a carnivore newbie, you’re in the right place. I’m learning as I go, and I hope this inspires you to try something new in your kitchen.
