FAQS & HELPFUL TIPS
Who is DAV Chapter 48? Why is this a benefit?
DAV Chapter 48 has been serving disabled veterans and their families in Sonoma County since 1938. We also serve neighboring counties (Mendocino & Napa). Serving disabled veterans is DAV’s legacy and helps distinguish our mission from other veterans’ service organizations. DAV provides a lifetime of support for veterans of all generations, their families, and survivors in positive, life-changing ways. Our cost-free programs empower disabled veterans and their families to lead high-quality lives with respect and dignity.
Proceeds from our Crab Feed Fundraiser will benefit local disabled veterans and their families provided through our cost-free programs, training volunteers, outreach, operating expenses, and so much more. Our services are made possible through the generosity of our donors and volunteers and the dedication of our members.
Are drinks included?
Drinks are included with all tickets. We respectfully request guests to donate at the bar for wine & beer.
What do I need to bring?
The crab will be cleaned and cracked, and we will provide butter, salt/pepper, & parmesan cheese. You are welcome to bring your own condiments and cracking tools. For warm butter, bring it in a sealable heat-protective food container, such as Klean Kanteen or Yeti, which keeps the butter warm for hours.
Do I need to bring money?
Please bring cash to tip the food servers. We appreciate their help, and we appreciate your kindness. Purchase raffle tickets and auction items using cash or credit cards.
What is not permitted?
Candles are not allowed, but small sternos can be used for butter warmers. No outside alcohol is permitted.
Are there ID requirements?
Valid ID to pick up tickets at Will Call. Per state law, guests must be 21 or older to consume alcohol and must show valid government identification.
Can I bring crab & food home?
Food is available to eat while at the event. Sometimes there is food available to purchase and take home at the end of dinner. Please ask your server at the end of dinner if there is food to buy and take home.
