41st Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Peace Breakfast

The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemoration recognizes the legacy of Dr. King and allows the Oregon State community to reflect on his work in today’s context through engaging workshops, presentations and service opportunities. In its 41st year, the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemoration is Oregon State University’s longest running annual event focused on social justice and transformative change. All events are free; tickets are required for the Peace Breakfast and Keynote events.
PEACE BREAKFAST, 9 a.m.: The annual Peace Breakfast, held on Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, commemorates the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. while honoring members of the Oregon State community who carry his message and work forward in the present. The event is held in the CH2M HILL Alumni Center in Corvallis.
- The Peace Breakfast is free and open to Oregon State University community members and specially invited guests.
- OSU ID# is required to register and will be checked for validity.
- If a non-valid ID number is used, registration will be voided.
PEACE MARCH, 11 a.m.: An Oregon State tradition, the Peace March is is an opportunity to join in solidarity with community members and reflect on Dr. King’s legacy of creating transformative change through non-violence. March begins at the front patio to the LaSells Stewart Center and concludes in the Student Experience Center Plaza. No registration is required.
CHILDCARE: Childcare is available from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. for children ages 2-11 for those attending either the breakfast or the march. Detailed childcare info will be sent after registration.
