The Business and Veteran Communities of Anchorage will host a picnic event to welcome Afghan Refugees to Alaska on from 12pm to 4pm on May 7th, 2022 at the Dome in Anchorage (6501 Changepoint Drive, Anchorage, AK 99518).
Who can attend?
This is an open event to members of the Business and Veteran Communities. If you belong to either of these communities in Anchorage, and would like to support and welcome refugees from Afghanistan to the area, this event is for you.
What are the requirements for Attendees?
o If you exchange phone numbers with at least three people at this event, and connect with at least one person afterwards, this event will have been a success
o Beyond that, come to socialize and help make our new community members feel welcome!
o Bring your families! Over half the people arriving are children, and they need to meet other kids too.
