Health inequities have significant and far-reaching implications for health, economic growth, community resilience, and social outcomes. While the corona virus pandemic has set a spotlight on the systemic impact of health inequities in the United States, it has also highlighted the power of commitment, collaboration, and community, giving us a small taste of what can happen when we work together, and truly listen to one another.
At American Muslim Health Professionals (AMHP), we are ending this year by showing gratitude for the individuals and partnerships that have helped heal, unite, and rebuild our communities, and look towards expanded collaborations in the year ahead. From frontline healthcare workers who worked tirelessly to help keep us safe, to leaders who are at the frontlines of their communities, and from long standing collaborations between community organizations and government, to newly formed partnerships, it is these ‘collective’ oriented efforts that bring us a step closer to establishing health equity.
So come join us for an evening of celebration, recognition, and connection, and hear from esteemed national public servants who have centered their careers on public health, bridge building, and community engagement.
