Awareness & Action with Amenity Aid
July 17 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm EDT
About this event
This popular event begins with an introduction to the state of hygiene poverty in Rhode Island. With a better understanding of the issue and Amenity Aid’s mission, volunteers then roll up their sleeves to assemble hygiene kits.
This month we will be assembling full-size hygiene kits for homeless and at-risk veterans attending Stand Down Weekend hosted by Operation Stand Down Rhode Island. Volunteers will be asked to complete any of the following tasks:
- sort product donations
- unpack and shelve toiletries
- count products
- move around our office to collect products and place them into bags
- and more!
Who can attend: adults; children aged 10 and up are welcome when accompanied by an adult
Requirements: participants must be able to stand for a long period of time and lift up to 35 pounds
Advanced registration is required. Space is limited. According to CDC guidelines masks are optional for vaccinated volunteers. To accommodate our new space this event is limited to 4 people. This event will be held indoors.
Registration includes a $30 donation to provide 2 hygiene kits to homeless veterans.
Amenity Aid offers a variety of ways to support our local community. If this workshop isn’t a good fit, please review our other options on our website here.
