DAV Whitewater State Park Veterans Fly Fishing Retreat

Join fellow veterans and families, and learn to fly fish at beautiful Whitewater State Park!
Day 1:
- Check -in, 1pm
- Practice casting & stream basics, 2-4 pm
- Dinner, 5 pm
- Evening Speaker, 6 pm
- Rigging your set up & Fly Tying, 7pm
Day 2:
- Breakfast & check out, 7-9 am
- Guided Fishing, all morning
- Box lunches to go,11 am-Noon
A co-ed adult veteran retreat will be held from 23-24 September 2022. A veteran family retreat following the same agenda will be held at the same location from 24-25 September 2022. Please only sign up for ONE event. Space is limited.
Lodging, food, and gear is all cost free. Travel costs are at your expense. State park passes must be on each vehicle-please check in at the front office when you enter the park. Park passes are free for disabled veterans, $7 per day or $35 for an annual pass if you do not qualify. https://www.dnr.state.mn.us/state_parks/permit.html
You will be assigned a cabin upon arrival. Please note in your registration if you are attending with anyone you would like to room with. Please bring bedding for your bunk (sleeping bag or sheets, pillow, etc.). The campground has a shower facility. Please also bring a towel and toiletries. There are separate restrooms and shower facilities for men and women. Remember this is an outdoor event. Pack and dress for the weather; this is a rain or shine event. Pack sunscreen, bug spray, etc., anything you would want for the elements and a fishing adventure.
