K9s For Warriors Hosting Salute to Moms | Shari Duval National Headquarters
As we celebrate our love for moms during the month of May, K9s For Warriors will host a special Salute to Moms event May 21 at 6:30 pm.

About this event

The event will honor the sacrifices made by moms of veterans, veterans who are moms, and moms who are married to veterans. To join us in saluting these remarkable mothers, we encourage you to bring your mom, aunt, sister or beloved woman in your life.

Celebrated author and Gold Star Mother Krista Keating-Joseph will serve as a guest speaker. Her book, titled “Charlie, Don’t Be a Hero,” is a moving story about her son Charles Keating IV, a U.S. Navy Seal who bravely died in combat.

Along with Krista, K9s For Warriors graduate Damian Jungermann also will be present alongside his Service Dog, Shai. Damian happened to serve alongside Charlie during one of his deployments, and, as part of the event, will meet Krista for the first time. Damian now works at K9s For Warriors as a Warrior Advocacy Specialist.

A donation is suggested for tickets to this event. Your ticket donation will help fund K9s For Warriors’ new “Campus for K9 Operations.” Located on nearly six acres of generously donated land near our national headquarters, we are scheduled to break ground at the end of June. Once completed, this facility will operate as one of the nation’s largest kennels and have the ability to house up to 250 Service Dogs-in-training. With your support, these animals will receive exceptional veterinary care and take part in Service Dog training in order to be paired with Warriors and help return them to a life of independence and dignity.

We hope to see you on May 21!

Any donations for attendance are welcomed and greatly appreciated. The suggested donation is $20/person. Ticket sales will end on May 18 at 5pm.

Not local? No problem. We will also have a virtual attendance option for out-of-town attendees or those uncomfortable with visiting campus.
