The American Legion Los Angeles County Council (LACC) is happy to bring back the Tamale competition started just last year coming out of COVID. This event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, December 3, 2022, 12 noon to 6:00 p.m.
LACC has representation from all the American Legion Posts in the greater Los Angeles area. The purpose of this festival is to provide an opportunity for the American Legion Family to come together, showcase and fundraise for the American Legion Family programs which enrich the lives of veterans, active duty service members, their families and our communities every day for over the last one hundred years.
The American Legion Alhambra Post 139 has agreed to be the host, once again, for the 2nd Annual Los Angeles County Council Tamale Festival – Tamale contest which is open to the public. Join us in celebrating the rich tradition of tamale making during the Christmas holiday season. Registration is open for non-profit and other vendors. Tamale vendors will be required to fill out an application form (non-profit or regular) and waiver plus pay a fee and provide an opportunity drawing donation item. All other vendors will be required to fill our application (non-profit or regular) and waivers. We anticipate at least 400 people during the time of the event. Set up is 8:00-11:00 a.m., inspection at 11:30 a.m. and sales commence at 12:00 noon to 6:00 p.m. or sold out.
