Mayors\, governors\, agencies\, and organizations mark the week by issuing proclamations\, hosting award ceremonies\, organizing tribute events\, and sharing messages that highlight the importance and impact of public service. \nIn Washington\, D.C.\, national events often include town hall discussions with senior leaders and recognition ceremonies such as the Samuel J. Heyman Service to America Medals\, which celebrate excellence in federal service. \nPublic servants deserve our appreciation not just this week\, but throughout the entire year.
