DESCRIPTION:For professionals looking to increase cultural awareness\, clinical practice\, and wanting to provide better services to veterans. \n\n \n\n\n\n\nJoin us for an interactive training workshop designed to enhance your professional skills in serving those who have served our country.\nThis in-person event that is a day and a half event. Breakfast items\, lunch\, refreshments and snacks will be provided. \nDuring this workshop\, you will learn effective strategies and approaches to provide specialized care to veterans and military personnel. \nOur veteran speaker\, Kristin Gyford\, LCSW (USAF Veteran) from Still Serving Counseling\, will share her clinical insights\, drawing from her extensive experience and studies in working with this unique population. In addition\, community resources will will be there to speak to the resources they provide for veterans\, a veteran panel on issues associated with the lived experiences of mental health care\, and receive 12 continuing education (CE) of which 2 (CE) are for Suicide Prevention training. \nThrough engaging presentations\, case studies\, and interactive discussions\, you will gain valuable knowledge on trauma-informed care\, unique challenges to this population\, and learn about other mental health challenges commonly faced by veterans.
