The Purple Heart Day 1 Mile, 5K, 10K, 13.1, 26.2 Albany

On August 7, 1782 George Washington created the Purple Heart and now, August 7th, is known as Purple Heart Day. We are celebrating with our third annual Purple Heart Day 1 Mile, 5K, 10K, 13.1 & 26.2. You will get a beautiful purple heart medal. The quote on the medal says, “No person was ever honored for what he received. Honor has been the reward for what he gave.”

Plus, we will be donating a portion of each registration fee (at least 15% of each registration) to the Purple Heart Foundation. Their mission supports a number of programs and services dedicated to helping ALL veterans and their families.

What: This is a 1 Mile, 5K, 10K, 13.1, 26.2 virtual run (or walk) to celebrate Purple Heart Day. You choose which distance you want to complete.
When: Complete your race any time in 2019!

Medals and bibs will begin shipping out mid-July. If you sign up after that your medals will ship within 2 to 5 days of signing up.

Where: You choose the course and you time yourself (you’ll report your finishing time to us).

Why: Because this is our way of celebrating Purple Heart Day!

Cost: The price is $20 and that includes your medal, bib and shipping. Plus, at least 15% of every entry will be donated to the Purple Heart Foundation. *We are in no way affiliated with this charity, we like to choose a different charity for each of our races and are happy to raise funds for them.

*You can also choose to get a lapel pin or patch instead of a medal.
