Walk for the Fallen July 17th – Elite 8

We walk every year from Summerville to Mt. Pleasant for 30 miles.
Back in 2013, disabled veteran Dwight Decker had a vision to raise awareness for those who are still serving in our military & those who have already paved the way for freedom.
He decided to walk from Summerville, SC to Mount Pleasant, SC (roughly a 30 mile hump.) He told some people about his plan and the date he was going to do it…the first year he had 8 people and 1 escort vehicle. 5 years later over 100 walkers and many escort vehicles he continues to raise awareness for veterans and their families.
This year on July 17th, 2021 will be the 8th year for the WALK. He plans on having over 100 walkers to make the journey with him. During the WALK he carries a “Honor Cloth” with the names of past & present services members on it—both alive and those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. At the end of the walk he reads off every single name during the closing ceremony. This is a truly memorable moment for the hundreds who attend.
