Grief is one of the most uncomfortable emotions we face and often leaves us at a loss of what do to when it shows up in the therapeutic space. This presentation is designed to provide an overview of grief and will include topics around: myths, cultural differences, grief across the lifespan, diagnostic differences and how to clinically work with clients who are affected by grief. This training will also examine how grief impacts us as therapist and providers.

Presenter Bio

Leah Keval is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and received her master’s degree from the University of Denver. Leah has experience working with a wide range of clients in a variety of settings including in-home, outpatient hospitals and private practice. She currently works as a clinical supervisor and provides consulting & trauma training to school districts. Her therapeutic framework consists of using EMDR, Play Therapy, Mindfulness and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. She emphasizes the importance of developing a connection to both the mind and body to promote overall health and well-being.
