Happy Heavenly Birthday to Tony Curtis! 🇺🇸

June 3, 1925 – September 29, 2010
Today we honor and remember Tony Curtis, one of Hollywood’s most beloved actors and a proud United States Navy veteran.
Before becoming a legendary film star known for classics such as Some Like It Hot, Spartacus, The Defiant Ones, and Operation Petticoat, Curtis answered his nation’s call during World War II.
Following the attack on Pearl Harbor, Curtis enlisted in the United States Navy and served in the Pacific Theater aboard the submarine tender USS Proteus. On September 2, 1945, he witnessed the historic Japanese surrender in Tokyo Bay from his ship’s signal bridge, approximately one mile from the USS Missouri.
After his honorable discharge, Curtis attended the City College of New York through the G.I. Bill before launching a remarkable Hollywood career that spanned more than six decades and over 100 film and television appearances.
On his heavenly birthday, we celebrate both his incredible contributions to entertainment and his dedicated service to our country.
