Before becoming one of the greatest singers of all time, Tony Bennett proudly served in the United States Army during World War II, including combat service in Europe. After returning home, he used the GI Bill to study music and launch a legendary career spanning more than seven decades.
🏈 Marv Levy
Born August 3, 1925 (Happy 101st Birthday!)
Before becoming the Hall of Fame coach who led the Buffalo Bills to four consecutive Super Bowl appearances, Marv Levy served in the United States Army Air Forces during World War II. Like Bennett, he used the GI Bill to continue his education after returning home.
Their stories remind us that countless veterans have gone on to shape American music, sports, business, entertainment, science, and public service. Their military service helped build the foundation for the remarkable legacies they would leave behind.
