Helping Hands for Freedom’s Moon Valley Country Club Golf Tournament
Helping Hands’ Primary Mission: is to support the surviving spouse and family of a warrior killed in action. It can take up to 6 months to receive the death benefit so financial challenges often accompany the loss of a loved one. In addition if they are living on base they are given a very short time to find their own housing elsewhere. This cause is close to my heart as my son did two tours in Afghanistan as a Marine and returned injured. Thankfully not seriously but enough he was not allowed to re-enlist. Your golf includes lunch, dinner and the comedy show. This year we have a fantastic comedian named Greg Hahn. He is a former Marine and has a manic energy that resembles Robin Williams. He has appeared on Comedy Central and Conan among others along with winning the old Ed McMahon talent contest. He did a show for us two years ago and had people rolling in the aisles. Check him out at www.greghahn.com So if you can’t make golf you can attend dinner and the show for $30. Your friends or spouse can also attend the dinner and show for $30.
We also need silent auction items so if you have something you want to donate or know of someone who does please don’t be shy about hooking up. Rumor has it we may have guitars signed by Gene Simmons of Kiss who is becoming a big supporter of ours, along with Alice Cooper and John Mellencamp. Ping has donated a set of G 30 irons and there will be many other items available to purchase in order to support Helping Hands For Freedom (HHFF).
