Honoring the Four Chaplains | #militaryhistory Four Chaplains Day Tribute | February 3rd

February 3rd marks Four Chaplains Day, honoring the bravery and selflessness of the Four Chaplains, also known as the “Immortal Chaplains” or “Dorchester Chaplains.”
In 1943, these four U.S. Army chaplains—Lieutenant George L. Fox, Lieutenant Alexander D. Goode, Lieutenant Clark V. Poling, and Lieutenant John P. Washington—sacrificed their lives to save others when the troop ship SS Dorchester sank during World War II. They helped soldiers and civilians board lifeboats, gave up their own life jackets, and joined arms in prayer and song as the ship went down. Their courage, faith, and unity remain a powerful reminder of heroism and sacrifice.
Let’s remember and honor their incredible legacy today and every day. 🙏
