Jackie Robinson Stadium Hosts 20th Annual Veteran’s Holiday Event
On the first Sunday of every December, the VA Greater Los Angeles, VA Voluntary Service, over 100 restaurants, local businesses and the community at large come together as one to celebrate the holiday season by giving thanks to America’s heroes.
Over the past twenty years, the Annual Veterans’ Holiday Celebration has kicked off the holiday season for many veterans living in the Los Angeles area. This year’s sponsors and event organizers will continue their legacy of providing homemade meals, gifts, entertainment and a huge holiday party for the men and women who diligently served our country.
Located on the on the Veterans Administration grounds in West LA, just West of the 405 Freeway, lot 29 adjacent to the Jackie Robinson Stadium, this year’s celebration will take place on Sunday, December 2nd, 2012. Event hours are from 12:00 p.m.-5:30 p.m., rain or shine. Admission is free to all veterans, active duty military personnel and their families.
Sponsored by Five Star Gourmet Foods, Inc. the event is sure to provide delicious food and family fun. Live entertainment will feature Jim Belushi & the Sacred Hearts Band.
Over 900 community volunteers helped make last year’s event a huge success.
Site set-up day is Saturday December 1st and volunteers are still needed.
