Saturday October 27th is Make a Difference Day: A National Day of Doing Good
If you are looking for a chance to get involved in community service, to support our veterans, and to create some good public awareness–here is your chance. All around the country, veteran’s are donating time and volunteering their skills while concerned citizens are reaching out to help veterans.
For more than 20 years, USA WEEKEND Magazine and Points of Light have joined together to sponsor Make A Difference Day, the largest national day of community service.
Make a Difference Day, held on Saturday, October 27th. is a celebration of community service, and it presents great opportunities for everyone to get out and give back to the community.
If you act quick, you can still register your project on the Make a Difference Day website, share ideas with others across the globe, and work to make the world a better place. Make a Difference Day provides online toolkits to assist you in the planning and development of your project, marketing tools to help you raise awareness, and even helps recruit volunteers within your local community.
By registering, you will be eligible for: One of ten $10,000 grants from Newman’s Own, a foundation dedicated to transforming lives and nourishing the common good. You also could win an all-expenses paid trip to the next Make a Difference Day Awards Ceremony, to be held April 2013.
