Today is RED Friday — Remember Everyone Deployed.
As we wear red today to honor our deployed servicemembers around the world, we also prepare to commemorate tomorrow’s anniversary of D-Day, June 6, 1944, one of the most significant military operations in history.
On D-Day, thousands of brave Allied troops stormed the beaches of Normandy to begin the liberation of Europe during World War II. Their courage, sacrifice, and determination changed the course of history and secured freedom for future generations.
Today, we remember those heroes of the Greatest Generation while also honoring the men and women currently serving our nation around the globe. Whether deployed overseas, standing watch at sea, flying missions, or supporting operations at home and abroad, America’s servicemembers continue a proud tradition of duty and sacrifice.
