Remembering Marine Corps Veteran & Actor Saginaw Grant on His Heavenly Birthday
Today, on his Heavenly Birthday, we proudly remember Saginaw Grant (July 20, 1936 – July 28, 2021), a decorated United States Marine Corps veteran, acclaimed Native American actor, award-winning musician, Pow Wow dancer, motivational speaker, and the Hereditary Chief of the Sac and Fox Nation.
After honorably serving in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War, Saginaw Grant dedicated his life to preserving Native American culture while entertaining and inspiring audiences around the world. He was best known for his memorable performances in The Lone Ranger, The World’s Fastest Indian, Community, Breaking Bad, and numerous other film and television productions.
His life was defined by service—to his country, his people, and his community. Whether wearing the Marine Corps uniform, sharing his culture through music and dance, or appearing on screen, Saginaw Grant left behind a legacy of courage, leadership, and inspiration.
On his Heavenly Birthday, we honor his remarkable life, celebrate his many contributions, and thank him for his service to our nation.
