2nd Annual Helping Homeless Veterans Fundraiser and Kickball Game
On August 11, 2013, Clean Slate Credit Solutions will be holding their 2nd Annual Helping Homeless Veterans fundraiser by having a kickball game with all proceeds benefiting the Hope for Veterans® program located at the VA New Jersey Healthcare Campus in Lyons, NJ. This program has helped over 520 homeless Veterans and are the largest and most comprehensive program for homeless veterans in New Jersey. The goal of Hope for Veterans® is to provide a safe, supportive environment where veterans can sustain their recovery and start on the path to rebuild their lives. Please spread the word and invite your friends and family to this event!
Clean Slate will team up with business owners and the community to help “eliminate Veteran homelessness” and give back to those who gave their all. Some of our brave, young men and women that have sacrificed their lives to fight and defend our country come home and end up living on the streets because of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other mental illnesses. Together, we can make a difference to help them get back on their feet and to let them know that we care.
There are a lot of homeless Veterans out there who need help, so they are asking people to look through their closets for shoes, clothing, and household items that they do not use anymore but are still in good condition and bring those bagged items to the event. Please make sure that all clothes are washed and clean.
They are asking for a $15 donation for this event per person. (Kids 14 & younger are free). For the kickball game, they will have ten people per team and plan on having at least four teams. If they have more participants, then they will have more teams and multiple games playing at once since their are two fields available. Your t-shirt must be worn when playing kickball and teams will be chosen at random. They will have an event registration and waiver form that will need to be filled out in order to participate.
The $15 donation provides the following:
* Support to the Hope for Veterans® program
*Event T-shirt
* Food and drink ticket
* Participation in kickball game
* Goodie bag with sponsor info
