VPAN & LAVC Present: Spring into Recovery – Battleship USS Iowa Museum

This event will help to educate Veterans and Military Families about substance use and chemical dependency.

We are coming together as a community to remove the stigma of Addiction, Alcoholism and Mental Illness. Find out how to receive help for yourself or for your loved ones.

This event is an all-inclusive look at the challenges and opportunities in regards to addiction, without the fear of judgement. We want to bring awareness and compassion to this continuing epidemic and combine our efforts through action.

We will be offering a day focusing on recovery and posing solutions relative to beating addiction and to maintaining recovery. Guest Speakers will provide powerful stories about overcoming addiction. Organizations include AA and many other organizations focused on recovery. Learn about equine therapy, service dogs, Transcendental Meditation and other therapies that are available.

There also will be two rotating rooms showcasing solutions such as Narcan awareness, the fundamentals of 12 step programs, opportunities for involvement and much more to come.

Addiction is a disease and we are inviting our community to learn about recovery as a way of life. Join our VPAN Team on the USS Iowa on April 8th .
