About this event
Join us for the 2024 award-winning Veterans in Economic Transition Conference (VETCON). This conference is the first of its kind in the Capital Region to assist Veterans and Veteran business owners as they transition to professional careers. It is an unprecedented collection of public and private businesses, non-profit organizations, and government agencies and authorities gathering together for a very worthy initiative.
VETCON will:
· Provide support, advice and direction to New York State Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Businesses (SDVOBs), both startups and existing businesses.
· Host seminars, panel discussions and presentations on various topics, including issues that confront new businesses and how to do business through technology and marketing.
· Make available businesses and organizations that help Veterans obtain employment and to encourage industries to consider Veterans for employment. The New York State Office of General Services (OGS) will have representatives from state programs and agencies that help guide veterans toward useful programs that currently exist. Representatives from OGS will help instruct and educate Veteran business owners as to the process and requirements in becoming certified as a New York State Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Business (SDVOB) in order to increase participation in New York State’s contracting opportunities.
· Present monetary awards and prizes to veteran-owned businesses.

· Provide access to businesses and organizations that are not necessarily focused on Veterans but offer services that help them succeed and thrive after service.
· Have speakers serve as mentors during seminar sessions and networking opportunities with the inclusion of notable Veteran business owners, investors and financial institutions. There will be specific rooms made available to connect NYS agencies and public authorities with SDVOBs and offer networking between attendees.

The Eventbrite registration fee is nonrefundable. VETCON will work to accommodate cancellation requests in advance of the event, however cancellations less than 30 days prior to the event date of December 3, 2024, are non-refundable unless there are circumstances that prohibit the event from taking place.

NYS Agency Ticket:
· New York State agencies are invited to send up to 2 representatives to the event for free and will be given a 2-person agency matchmaking table in the Agency Matchmaking Ballroom! Please make sure to register each attendee and use your agency-related email address for confirmation purposes. Two attendees per agency maximum. We’re sorry, but we are unable to make hotel accommodations for agency attendees.
· Please note: If you would like to send up to 2 additional attendees (4 total), or if your agency would like to have a networking table in our sponsor area, please select the “Agency Booth Add-On” at checkout (cost is $500 per table). All other additional agency attendees must be registered as full attendee tickets.
