Florida Ranks 3rd For Most Businesses Owned By Military Veterans But 39th In Percentages

According to a report, from the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Office of Advocacy, the Sunshine State has 176,727 veteran owned businesses with revenue of $61.9 billion.  Nationally, veterans own 2.45 million businesses and employ about six million workers. New Jersey Moves to Allow Veteran Preference on Local Government Contracts

New Jersey is seriously considering new legislation that would allow local governments to implement a public contract set-aside program for  businesses that are owned by or that employ veterans.  The bill, which was drafted by Senator Donald Norcross and Assembly Member Angel Fuentes and Gilbert “Whip” Wilson (D-Camden/Gloucester) is now headed to the governor’s  desk for approval.
