The U.S. Army’s Twilight Tattoo is a live action-packed military experience featuring U.S. Army Military District of Washington ceremonial units, the 3d U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard) and The U.S. Army Band “Pershing’s Own.”
Twilight Tattoo is appropriate for school-aged children and enjoyable by people of all ages!

When and where do performances take place?
- Twilight Tattoo is presented on Wednesday evenings from the end of April through July on Summerall Field on Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall in Virginia.
How do I register for Twilight Tattoo?
For individuals or groups of less than 20 people:
- Select GENERAL REGISTRATION to register for your spot.
- You may register up to 19 people per order. If you have 20 or more, please use the group registration option.
- If 20 or more registrations are required, please use the GROUP REGISTRATION
For Group Registrations:
Each GROUP REGISTRATION order accommodates up to 100 people, so place the number of orders needed for the required reservations.
Example: Schoolhouse ABC Total 256
GROUP REGISTRATION selection:
- Order 1: 100
- Order 2: 100
- Order 3: 56
Example: Workplace XYZ Total 92
GROUP REGISTRATION selection:
- Order 1: 92
- After completing registration, you will receive base entrance instructions, parking, and any event updates.
How do I get on Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall?
- Due to increased security measures all NON-DoW ID holders over the age of 18 must pre-register to gain base access. Registration must be completed no later than 48 hours prior to arrival, but no earlier than 14 days from the Twilight Tattoo you are attending. If you are unable to register via the link, you may still visit us for Twilight Tattoo but will be required to go through a screening upon arrival. For this screening you must have a Real ID or two forms of government ID without this you may not be able to access the base. Click here to register for base access or get more information.
When should I arrive?
- Plan to arrive by 6 p.m. (but no earlier than 5 p.m.) for your Twilight Tattoo experience.
- Prior to the show, meet U.S. Army Soldiers and visit displays and booths.
- Catch the 6:30 p.m. pre-show with singers from the U.S. Army Band and be seated for the main event beginning at 7 pm.
What should I wear?
- Check the weather on performance day. Washington, D.C. summers tend to be hot and balmy, so dress accordingly to be comfortable.

Can I buy food and drinks at the events?
- Food and drinks will not be available for purchase.
- You may bring food and bottled water; however, please clean up after yourself accordingly.
