Veteran Farm to Table-Ag Education and Training Continuum (VF2T-AETC) – equipping Veterans through OJT and Ag curriculum immersion

- Course Start: Monday, March 2, 2026
- End: Monday, September 28, 2026
- Duration: 31 weeks, recurring every Monday
- Time: 10 am ET – 12 pm ET
Attendance
- In-person and virtual attendance welcomed
- Max students allowable: 25 – combination of in-person and virtual
In-Person Location
- The Williamsburg Winery, Westbury Hall, 5800 Wessex Hundred, Williamsburg, Virginia 23185
- Wheelchair ramp and bathrooms available
- On-site cafe open for breakfast, 8 – 10 am at our hotel, Wedmore Hotel
- On-site tavern open for lunch, 11:00 – 3 pm, Gabriel Archer Tavern (aka, “GAT”)
Equipment
- Laptop Required for in-person; may also use desktop if participating remotely
- Caution: Unfavorable course outcomes expected if attempt to use smart tablets and phones
Weeks 1 – 8: We’ll cover topics including an introduction to Agriculture (Ag), sustainability of natural resources, and all things soil
Weeks 9 – 16: These topics include plant anatomy, animal science basics, and the management of baby doll sheep
Weeks 17 – 24: We’ll cover topics associated with water and air composition, quality, and conservation
Weeks 25 – 29: We’ll jump into insects, fruits and nut production, AgriBusiness basics, and greenhouse crops
Weeks 30 – 31: NRCS Fundamentals of Conservation & Sustainability in Agriculture Certification prep and test review
Note: Should any student possess the requisite knowledge and experience in any segment, they may test out in any or all segments.
Note: Should any student be successful in testing out of all segments, we’ll readily provide the NRCS Certification.
Note: Should any student who tests out of all segments prefer a different certification, we’ll provide those on a case-by-case basis.
