WWII Weekend at Jefferson Barracks 2022 – Public Event – Jefferson Barracks Park

See World War Two history come to life at Jefferson Barracks with Allied and Axis forces camps, complete with living historians portraying military members, civilians, and those in between. We will have authentic military vehicles, equipment, and tools of war. Maybe you’ll even catch a glimpse of a Hollywoodish Starlet at the US-No Camp Show! At 10 and 2 on Saturday, and Noon on Sunday you can watch the Axis and Allies battle it out for field supremacy, and while we know who the victors are in history, the results here may surprise you.
Jefferson Barracks is the oldest operating U.S. military installation west of the Mississippi River and served as a major reception center for U.S. troops being drafted into the military. It also served as an important basic training site for the Army, then later as the first Army Air Corps Training Site. During World War II, Jefferson Barracks had a peak area of 1,518 acres (6.14 km²), and had billeting space for 16 officers and 1,500 enlisted persons. Much of this land has since been turned into housing, public parks, the VA campus, and the national cemetery.
At our event, you may see displays, educational talks, interactive activities, performances, veterans groups, and vendors as we try to preserve the memory of the Greatest Generation and their sacrifices.
The camps will be open to the public on Saturday 9 am – 5 pm, and Sunday 9 am – 3 pm. Battles are scheduled for Saturday at 10 am and 2 pm and Sunday at 12 pm. This schedule is subject to change. This is event is free to attend, although your donations are greatly appreciated and allow us to continue to host and grow this event.
