Valerie Rivas is a seasoned financial professional with over 21 years of experience in the industry, including 11 years with Bank of America. In her role as Vice President of Business Community Engagement, Valerie is committed to empowering business owners and entrepreneurs by providing them with financial education, resources, and access to capital options. She partners with organizations across Los Angeles County to deliver tailored solutions that foster entrepreneurship and support business growth.
Valerie began her academic journey at Cal Poly Pomona and later earned her Bachelor’s degree and certification in Human Resources from the University of Phoenix. Fluent in Spanish, she proudly embraces her Nicaraguan heritage and actively works to serve in diverse communities throughout Southern California.
In addition to her professional role, Valerie sits on the boards of several nonprofit organizations, including EBPA of Southern California, ONE Inland Empire, and Better Money Habits. She is also a member of the Hispanic Latino Business Council, where she plays a key role in driving initiatives that support Latino business owners. Throughout her career, Valerie has been recognized for her dedication to community service and financial empowerment, receiving awards such as the 2023 VSEDC Public Service Award and 2023 Above and Beyond Award from Bank of America, the state of California Legislature among others.
