Atlantic Symphony Orchestra Announces “POPS! A Salute To Veterans” On April 26th; Flags Flown Over U.S. Capitol To Be Awarded
SOUTH SHORE, MA – Atlantic Symphony Orchestra (ASO), a professional orchestra based in Braintree and Hingham, will hold its annual Pops! A Season Finale at Thayer’s Center for the Performing Arts in Braintree on April 26 at 7:30 PM. This year, ASO will focus on Veterans with its POPS SALUTE TO VETERANS!
Music Director Jin Kim has programmed fun and meaningful American music for the event, including the Armed Forces Themes Medley and Stars & Stripes Forever (conducted by a special guest).
Our Veterans are facing difficult times currently. ASO is committed to honoring the sacrifice of South Shore Military Members, Veterans, and Wounded Warriors at this concert. Revolution250, the anniversary of 250 years since the start of the first shot, provides a powerful framework for acknowledging service.
ASO has submitted a Proclamation to the Governor of the Commonwealth to commemorate the event, titled: South Shore Veterans Salute Revolution250 and Declare April 26, 2025, South Shore Veterans Day 250! Local Representative Joan Meschino (D) and Senator Edward Markey (D), both of Massachusetts, have been invited to participate in the event.
“We’re excited to honor veterans with this concert,” Executive Director Tammy Lynch said. “For me, this is personal. My dad, Captain Thomas Lynch, an airborne ranger in the101st airborne division in Vietnam, talks often of his service. With each story he tells, I am more grateful he made it home. He and all our veterans have earned our gratitude. We very much want to make sure veterans know – especially now – that they are seen and valued. They matter.”
ASO is partnering with numerous veterans’ organizations and historical societies and will spotlight many of them in the lobby before and during the concert. The orchestra is also partnering with South Shore-based Veteran Owned Businesses, providing promotional opportunities while funding low and no cost tickets for members of veterans groups. A number of sponsorship opportunities remain, beginning at $250. A reception will follow the performance.
