Learn about Ohio’s Military Data and key components of Military Culture
About this event
Presented by David Kirker, MSW, LISW-S and Colin Fowler, LPCC-S, Ohio Army National Guard
Ohio’s veteran and active military population is 6.2% of our population, with a high concentration in the Dayton area. Research shows that this population has a higher risk of addiction, PTSD, depression, anxiety, and other mental health disorders as a result of their service. Behavioral Healthcare providers attending this presentation will learn more about military culture and how it impacts a veterans or service members willingness to engage in treatment or prevention programs, what resources are available for this population, and how to find more education for themselves.
