Veterans’ Unforgotten Memories – Mariposa County (California) High School

November 13, 2021 @ 2:00 pm PST

$10
Men a women veterans from Fresno, Madera, Mariposa, Merced and Oakhurst sharing their stories of being at war and adjusting to civilian life

“But our gratitude has to be more than visits to the troops, and once-a-year Memorial Day Ceremonies. We honor the dead best by treating the living well.” Jennifer M. Granholm

On November 13, 2021, The Rotary Club of Mariposa Yosemite presents the documentary film “Veterans’ Unforgotten Memories” at the Mariposa County High School in a cinema-wide-screen 4k format. Featuring 37 veterans from World War II to the present day, the film explores, through their own words, life and experiences in the military service and then adjusting to civilian life. Their lives were forever altered by war and circumstances.

Stories of hardship and triumph. Exhilaration and shame. Dodging bullets from Japanese fighter planes. Saving the lives of wounded soldiers in the swamps of Viet Nam. Surviving a missile rocketing through the wing and exploding above the plane. Dealing with the death of fellow soldiers, whether by accident or by enemy fire in Iraq and Afghanistan. Being dumped in a park by the police, now a homeless paraplegic after 30 years of honored service to one’s country, contemplating, “What am I going to do now?!” “Veterans’ Unforgotten Memories” explores the stories of these men and women and how they were able to survive and, in some cases, helped others along the way.

Featuring an interview with author Samuel Hill (“Six Days to Zeus’) describing how he is making a difference in the lives of troubled veterans with his 501 c (3), Tier One Tranquility Base.

Tickets are now on Sale for $10. Running time 88 minutes
