We’re SO excited you’ve signed up to join us for the Fall Women Veterans Retreat — happening Sunday, Oct 12 – Tuesday, Oct 14 at the beautiful (and fabulously quirky) Gorgeous Stays in Bryson City, NC!

Before we start packing our yoga pants and marshmallows, let’s go over a few real talk reminders so you can make an informed decision about your stay — because we’re all about stress-free, joyful vibes only – RIGHT?

Travel Tip!

It’s about a 3-hour drive from Atlanta — so we highly suggest carpooling and splitting gas money. Great way to save cash and connect with your sisters early!

No Kiddos, No Doggies (Unless It’s a Service Dog)

If you’re bringing a service dog, please contact me ASAP so I can give Gorgeous Stays a heads-up.

Accommodations

Think glamping with a twist: each unit sleeps 2–6 folks, so yes, you’ll have roommates! The units include:

• A Keurig-style coffee maker
• Mini fridge
• Potable water
• Some have microwaves
• Heated blankets, a fan, and a space heater (weather-dependent)

Prefer to tent camp? They’ve got 3 tent platforms and plenty of grassy space for those who love to sleep under the stars. If that’s your thing, let me know ASAP so we can plan accordingly!

Bathroom Talk (Because Somebody Has To)

• Each unit has an RV-style toilet (no flush!) partitioned or curtained off for pee ONLY
• Feminine products and #2? That’s what the bathhouse is for — which includes real toilets, towels, washcloths, soap/shampoo/conditioner, and even a blow dryer!

Weather

Temps could swing from 30s at night to 70s during the day, so layer up and pack smart! Blankets and heaters help, but bring your coziest sleepwear and comfy hiking clothes.

Reduce Waste

Let’s be kind to the Earth! Please bring your own reusable:

• Water bottles
• Cups/mugs
• Plates & bowls
• Forks, spoons, and anything else you need to reduce trash

Food

We’re working hard to cover meals (stay tuned!), but there are food options nearby:

• NOC dining spots
• Bryson City, just 15 minutes away
• Closest Walmart = 45 minutes

Activities

This retreat = do what nourishes you. Options may include:

• Hiking the Smokies to see 3 waterfalls
• Yoga, stretching & mindfulness
• Or simply doing nothing at all, which we HIGHLY support

To honor that gift, we ask that you please avoid last-minute cancellations unless absolutely necessary.

We want everyone to have the opportunity to attend — and there’s already a growing waitlist of excited women veterans ready to step in if needed.
