Military Naturalization Town (A Community Dialogue about Deported Veterans)

The Tacoma Branch of the NAACP invites the community to a special evening of film and dialogue addressing the issue of deported U.S. military veterans.
The event will feature a screening of the award-winning documentary Bring Them Home, produced by Rob Young, followed by a community town hall discussion focused on military naturalization and the policies impacting veterans and their families.
Panel voices will include James Smith, Founder of Black Deported Veterans of America; David Bariu, a formerly deported U.S. military veteran; and Rob Young, producer of Bring Them Home.
Community partners and advocacy organizations will also be present to provide information and resources for veterans and their families. This gathering offers an opportunity to learn, connect, and take part in an important conversation about justice, service, and the responsibility we share to support those who served our country.
What to Expect
Film Screening
A screening of the award-winning documentary Bring Them Home, highlighting the stories of U.S. military veterans who were deported after their service.
Community Town Hall & Panel Discussion
A moderated conversation exploring military naturalization, immigration policy, and the ongoing efforts to prevent the deportation of veterans.
