Best known for his iconic roles in Quincy, M.E. and as Oscar Madison on The Odd Couple, Klugman was more than just a legendary actor—he was also a proud United States Army veteran who served during World War II.
After the war, Klugman pursued acting in New York City—where he shared an apartment with fellow actor and veteran Charles Bronson. Bronson went on to serve in the U.S. Army Air Forces, flying 25 combat missions as a B-29 aerial gunner and earning a Purple Heart.
We also recognize his Odd Couple co-star Tony Randall, who served in the U.S. Army Signal Corps during WWII.
