New Post-Covid Funeral Home Campaign – It’s Not Too Late to Celebrate Your Loved One’s Life!
Symonds-Madison Funeral Home Launches Campaign to Encourage Families Who delayed or skipped a funeral service during the Covid-19 Pandemic to plan a Special Celebration of Life that Allows Everyone to Attend
In Partnership with Platt Hill Nursery, Free Memorial Trees will be Provided to Families who Book a Celebration of Life by September 1, 2021
Elgin, Ill. – Symonds-Madison Funeral Home today announced a campaign called “It’s Not Too Late to Celebrate Your Loved One’s Life!”, which encourages families who delayed or skipped a funeral service during the Covid-19 pandemic to plan a special Celebration of Life in 2021.
“The Covid-19 Pandemic took so much from us, including the ability to mourn together with those who matter most,” said Daniel Symonds, Owner and Funeral Director. “I saw it firsthand as families skipped or delayed services out of fear for loved ones who were high-risk for Covid-19. Those who went ahead with a service were often limited to funerals of ten people or less.
“Now that Illinois has re-opened,” Symonds continued, “We can help families get the closure they need with a personalized service that includes everyone they love. It’s important to Celebrate and honor the lives of those lost in 2020. Everyone deserves to find peace in processing that grief together.”
For much of the Covid-19 pandemic, funerals were limited to 10 people or less. Many families chose to forego a service, rather than settle for less. Some families powered through with the gathering limits, but had to exclude loved ones who would have attended during normal times, resulting in many friends and relatives being limited to virtual access.
Memorial Tree Promotion
In partnership with Platt Hill Nursery of Carpentersville, Symonds-Madison Funeral Home is providing a free Memorial Tree to families who book a Celebration of Life by September 1, 2021.
“Memorial trees provide solace and comfort all year long as a living tribute to someone you lost,” said Joy Symonds, Owner and Director of Community Engagement. “We are excited to offer the gift of a beautiful tree for families to plant together as a lasting reminder of that loved one who meant so much to them.”
The Symonds-Madison Complimentary Memorial Tree promotion ($239 value) includes:
- Choice of more than 50 tree varieties in 15-gallon pots, ready for planting. Trees are 5-8 feet tall. Platt Hill Nursery staff can guide families on the best choice of tree for their desired location ($169 value).
- A complimentary planting and watering guide to ensure the memorial tree lives a long and healthy life.
- One bag of recommended compost to use with planting ($10 value).
- Trip charge for delivery to Elgin. ($60 value. Other towns may have additional fees, depending on distance from the nursery.) This is a “drive-way drop” delivery.
- Platt Hill Nursery guarantees your tree for one year after planting. If it does not survive, you are entitled to a 50% store credit to use toward a new tree.
If a family does not want to plant their tree themselves, Platt Hill Nursery’s expert staff can plant the tree for an additional $85 service fee. This also extends the guarantee for the tree up to two years and 100% of the value.
Symonds-Madison Funeral Home can also assist with securing a permanent granite marker for beneath the tree and arranging an intimate dedication ceremony at the family’s convenience following the tree’s planting.
